Sliding vane pump

Vane Pump (also commonly called Leaf Pump by technicians) gets its name from the vanes arranged inside the pump body. These vanes create suction and discharge chambers, which is why it is referred to as a “leaf pump.”

In a vane pump, the rotor is a critical component. It is a cylindrical metal block, usually made of steel for strength and wear resistance. The rotor has slots that allow the vanes to slide. The pump chamber contains suction and discharge cavities, designed simply but requiring smooth, precise machining.
